The Kyrgyz interim government will present...

"Above all, we will offer a parliamentary form of government with restrictions on a political monopoly. The number of deputies in parliament from a single party will not exceed 50," Tekebayev told the news agency 24.kg.

Tekebayev said the Central Election Commission would also be reformed.

"We want a third of places in it [the commission] to be made up of civil society, a third to be made up of UN mandates another third to be made up of political parties. Elections will be carried out by the people, not the government, and they will be honest and transparent."

He confirmed that a referendum on the new constitution would take place in July and parliamentary and presidential elections would follow.

Uprisings broke out in Kyrgyzstan on April 6, spreading across the country and lasting several days. Former President Kurmankbek Bakiyev was deposed and forced to flee the capital and later the country. An interim government was formed under Roza Otumbayeva.
