Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei Nesterenko said at a news briefing the issue would be discussed during talks with U.S. partners in the next few days.
"The fundamental question Russia intends to solve during the conference is the necessity of an immediate signing of a bilateral agreement with the United States on international adoptions," he said.
Russia suspended from April 9 the activities on its territory of the U.S. child adoption agency World Association for Children and Parents after a U.S. adoptive mother put her 7-year-old son on a plane and sent him back to Moscow alone. He brought a note in which the adoptive mother, Tennessee Torry Hansen from Tennessee, said she will not take care of him any longer because he is "mentally unstable."
