Trading with the Foreign Exchange (most commonly referred to simply as the Forex) is a smart way to make money with a small investment. Forex currency means you’re trading currency on the Foreign Exchange. When you buy and sell Forex currency, you’re buying and selling money paired in a unit of two based on the exchange rate.

To put it in everyday language, buying and selling Forex currency is the same as the small shop owner who buys a product and sells it for a profit. Forex currency works in that the trader or his broker buys the currency for one price, hoping to sell it at a higher price in order to make a profit.

This type of transaction is as old as the hills and once you understand that buying and selling currency works on the same principle as the shop owner, it can make it easier to participate. The only difference is rather than working with a product, you’re working with currency.

When some people hear the term Foreign Exchange or Forex currency, they believe that only those who’ve been involved with the stock market or who understand all there is to know about Forex can earn the right kind of money. But they couldn’t be more wrong. We’re living in the age of the information highway, where knowledge is right at anyone’s fingertips simply by searching.

If you do an Internet search on Forex currency, you’ll unveil anywhere from thousands to millions of results. You don’t have to know everything beneath the sun to deal in Forex currency. Even a novice can get into buying and selling currency pairs and bring home enough money to help out, especially in light of today’s economic world.

When you’re trading with Forex currency, there can be a temptation to push yourself to the limit, to trade without regards to what a trend might do and that’s not smart trading. Always remember what goes up, must come back down, even Forex currency, but the great thing about Forex currency coming back down, is that even that down can work in your favor to put profit in your pocket.

Paying attention to a trend means you’re aware of the factors taking place in the world that can influence the Forex currency-whether it goes up or comes down. If you see the market go down, does that mean you should jump ship? No, because the Forex is an ever-changing, liquid market – it will go back up. You just have to know when to stay and when to leave.

I’m a ordinary guy with Big Dreams… LUCKY some say. Maybe! I had my ups and downs but now =:) Life is rosy . I’m Lucky as I can work from home or in fact anywhere..
forex

On a laptop just 3 or 4 hours a day to maintain a very healthy salary. Not because of luck really you have yo work smart have a look at what BOOSTED me to “Lucky” status just HERE

Bid to find Britons after tsunami

British consular officials are trying to trace “a number” of UK nationals thought to have been in the South Pacific region when a tsunami struck.

Rescue workers on Samoa, America Samoa and Tonga are searching for survivors.

The deadly waves, which killed at least 149 people, were triggered by an 8.3-magnitude earthquake on Tuesday.

The Foreign Office said it had received reports of “British nationals on Samoa or in the surrounding region that we have not yet been in contact with”.

A spokesman said: “Our consular team on the ground are in contact with the local authorities and are assisting any British nationals that have been affected by this terrible tragedy.

“Communications on the island remain severely disrupted. Phone lines are down and many roads impassable.

“Because the situation is developing rapidly and we are receiving updates all the time, we cannot be drawn into speculating on numbers.”

A British couple’s two-year-old son who was swept out to sea off Samoa is feared to be among those killed by the tsunami.

His father was treated in hospital after being injured on the beach where the wave struck.

A spokesman for the British High Commission in New Zealand said he was taken to hospital in the Samoan capital of Apia.

It is thought that the husband and wife, originally from Britain, now live in the Auckland area of New Zealand.

A Foreign Office spokeswoman said the boy was “missing, presumed dead”.

We all know that times are hard and we all could use a helping hand paying our bills. with so many job loses taking place there is an almost panic to find away to make money. You can not afford to sit back and wait for a bailout from the governemnt. You must take steps to ensure that you have a consistent flow of income coming in just in case your job is on the line. You just need some clues on how to get started.

Thank goodness for you it isnot that hard to find ways to earn a living online. The internet is forever growing as more users are logging on from all over the world. They too are surfing for new ways to make money along with other subjects. This could be the chance you are looking for. This time you can do something that you really love. Plus, earn some cash as well.

You would be surprised at all the ways people are building riches from home courtesy of the internet. Everything from putting up for sale there own abilities they gained from there old career to relationship tips and crafts they enjoy. There are billions of people out there so you are bound to find people who are exited in what you have to deliver. It does not matter what your likes are you are bound to find an audience for what you add to the mix. You just need a little help on how to market yourself.

Initially, settle on what you really want to do. What is your site or blog is going to be about. Once you determine it then you can do some keyword investigations to see if others have been hunting for info on this. If you see some results then put together the name of your website url that matches you keyword. Then download some website templates that you like and start to alter it.

Start with one niche or subtopic within your subject and start writing. Don’t be so nervous about any optimization at this time just start typing. Fill that page with writings related to that niche. You do not have to put everything on one page just make up four or five paragraghs or so for each page about a specific topic. Once you have around four or five pages done then this is the time to go back and tweak the page for search engine optimization results.

Then find a few pictures if you like and add them on. Next, generate a more elaborated ebook you can promote or sell your knowlegde to people who have more issues. You could even build a membership website for those who share your desire for what you have to say. This is where you can really let loose and go into full detail about what you have to say. Plus, let others remark and communicate to one another.

This at first glance can feel like a lot of work but it really is not. You can find products that can make things faster to set up. Once you get going you will find out just how many people out there who feel the same way you do. How great would it be to find that you are not alone in what you have to say.

For those who are not looking forward to working on just one website then just start flipping other websites that need some help. There are domain names from websites that people through in the towel on because of lack of education. They went in without no plan and there website never had any success. Now they need to get it sold. Some even abandoned the site and let the domain name expire. This is just like when people can’t pay there financing so they just leave it behind. Just like people flip homes you can flip domain names and generate an income.

I can go on all day with ways you can make money online. I think you get the idea that with some imagination and willingness to learn you could be making a living online yourself in just a matter of time.

If you liked the idea about selling domain names then you can read more about here at: virtual real estate. For more ideas about how to make money online then go to: no niche.

Many centuries ago, the values of goods were expressed in terms of other goods. This sort of economics was based on the barter system between individuals. The obvious limitations of such a system encouraged establishing more generally accepted mediums of exchange. It was important that a common base of value could be established. In some economies, items such as teeth, feathers even stones served this purpose, but soon various metals, in particular gold and silver, established themselves as an accepted means of payment as well as a reliable storage of value.

Coins were initially minted from the preferred metal and in stable political regimes, the introduction of a paper form of governmental I.O.U. during the middle Ages also gained acceptance. This type of I.O.U. was introduced more successfully through force than through persuasion and is now the basis of today’s modern currencies.

Before the First World War, most Central banks supported their currencies with convertibility to gold. Paper money could always be exchanged for gold. However, for this type of gold exchange, there was not necessarily a Centrals bank need for full coverage of the government’s currency reserves. This did not occur very often, however when a group mindset fostered this disastrous notion of converting back to gold in mass, panic resulted in so-called “Run on banks ” The combination of a greater supply of paper money without the gold to cover led to devastating inflation and resulting political instability.

In order to protect local national interests, increased foreign exchange controls were introduced to prevent market forces from punishing monetary irresponsibility.

Near the end of WWII, The Bretton Woods agreement was reached on the initiative of the USA in July 1944. The conference held in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire rejected John Maynard Keynes suggestion for a new world reserve currency in favor of a system built on the US Dollar. International institutions such as the IMF, The World Bank and GATT were created in the same period as the emerging victors of WWII searched for a way to avoid the destabilizing monetary crises leading to the war. The Bretton Woods agreement resulted in a system of fixed exchange rates that reinstated The Gold Standard partly, fixing the USD at $35.00 per ounce of Gold and fixing the other main currencies to the dollar, initially intended to be on a permanent basis.

The Bretton Woods system came under increasing pressure as national economies moved in different directions during the 1960’s. A number of realignments held the system alive for a long time but eventually Bretton Woods collapsed in the early 1970’s following president Nixon’s suspension of the gold convertibility in August 1971. The dollar was not any longer suited as the sole international currency at a time when it was under severe pressure from increasing US budget and trade deficits.

The last few decades have seen foreign exchange trading develop into the world’s largest global market. Restrictions on capital flows have been removed in most countries, leaving the market forces free to adjust foreign exchange rates according to their perceived values.

In Europe, the idea of fixed exchange rates had by no means died. The European Economic Community introduced a new system of fixed exchange rates in 1979, the European Monetary System. This attempt to fix exchange rates met with near extinction in 1992-93, when built-up economic pressures forced devaluations of a number of weak European currencies. The quest continued in Europe for currency stability with the 1991 signing of The Maastricht treaty. This was to not only fix exchange rates but also actually replace many of them with the Euro in 2002.

Today, Europe has embraced the Euro in 12 participating countries . The physical introduction of the Euro on January 1, 2002 saw the old countries currencies made obsolete on July 1, 2002.

In Asia, the lack of sustainability of fixed foreign exchange rates has gained new relevance with the events in South East Asia in the latter part of 1997, where currency after currency was devalued against the US dollar, leaving other fixed exchange rates in particular in South America also looking very vulnerable.

While commercial companies have had to face a much more volatile currency environment in recent years, investors and financial institutions have discovered a new playground. The size of the market now dwarfs any other investment market.

It is estimated that more than USD 1,200 Billion are traded every day, which is the same amount as almost 40 times the daily USD volume on the American NASDAQ market.

By Debbie’s side

By Andy McFarlane
BBC News

The publication of guidance on when prosecutions should be brought in assisted suicide cases represents a victory for multiple sclerosis sufferer Debbie Purdy.

But amid the celebrations, her husband Omar Puente still faces the prospect of helping her die.

Like many husbands, Omar Puente thinks his wife talks too much. They bicker a lot, he admits, but enjoy Indian takeaways – like any normal couple.

However, unlike anyone else, Mr Puente has seen his terminally-ill wife become the face of Britain’s right-to-die campaign.

Debbie Purdy’s fight for clarification of the circumstances in which her husband could be prosecuted for helping her commit suicide is being rewarded by the release of guidance on the issue.

Through every step of her battle, Mr Puente – a Cuban-born jazz violinist – has been at her side.

“It’s a big day. I’m really happy for her,” says the 47-year-old.

“I don’t think Debbie’s going to die tomorrow – I could be run over by a bus – you just don’t think about that“

Omar Puente

After sharing her life for nearly 15 years, how does Mr Puente cope with media coverage focusing on the prospect of his wife’s death

“I love my wife and I’m going to lose a lot when she’s gone. But I don’t think she’s going to die tomorrow.

“At the same time I could be run over by a bus. You just don’t think about that – you think positive and enjoy life. We have a good life together, good times.”

This philosophy has served the couple well since Ms Purdy’s illness was diagnosed.

It happened barely a month after the couple met – in 1995 in a Singapore bar where, as a music journalist, she muddled through an interview with him despite neither speaking the other’s language.

Mr Puente was working in Malaysia when she telephoned him with her news.

“I didn’t really know what she meant because this isn’t common in Cuba, so I said ‘just take a plane and come back to me and we’ll do something about it’,” he says.

Despite the devastating diagnosis, their love grew.

Struggle

“We were both foreigners in a third country and it was a necessity to help each other – that was one of the ingredients from the beginning of our strong relationship,” he says.

“Since then we’ve stuck together – good times and bad.”

They made the most of life in the far east. Even as Ms Purdy’s mobility became too restricted to allow her indulge in her love of dancing, Mr Puente would balance her feet on his and sweep her round the floor.

When Ms Purdy felt her deteriorating health left her with no choice but to go back to the UK, Mr Puente followed. They married in 1998.

“I arrived in England in the middle of winter and it was freezing cold and I thought ‘what is this’,” Mr Puente recalls.

“I struggled a lot at the beginning and people didn’t want to hear the violin, so I played double bass in an orchestra to put food on the table.”

As years went by, Mr Puente built a network of friends and saw his reputation as a musician grow – working with artists such as Jools Holland, Kirsty MacColl and Courtney Pine.

But since the death in 2002 of motor neurone disease sufferer Diane Pretty, who lost a legal battle to allow her husband to help her take her own life, Mr Puente and his wife have seen a cloud on the horizon.

‘Confidence’

Without assurances that her husband would be immune from prosecution, Ms Purdy insisted her only option was to die in Switzerland while still physically able to travel alone.

He husband says: “If [the law] wasn’t clear, Debbie would have to go to Switzerland before she was really ready to end her life.”

Now, he hopes the guidance will give him – and other couples – the confidence to travel with their loved ones when the time comes.

“It will be clear for most people to decide whatever they want to do. If something’s not clear at least they will feel able to ask.”

Until such time, Mr Puente is keen to focus on playing music – and passing on his skills on to students at both Leeds College of Music and London’s Trinity College of Music, where he teaches.

On 5 October, he releases his debut solo album – the Courtney Pine-produced From There to Here – followed by a launch event during London Jazz Festival in November.

Keen to take the positives from his experiences, he believes the rough and smooth of his life in England have helped him improve his work.

“Maybe I could have recorded it a long time ago but I’ve gathered experience in England and had the opportunity to play with great musicians here,” he says.

“I’m really happy. It’s time to get on with life and we’re going to have a lot of fun.”

Go to How To Get Your Free Equifax Credit Report. If you’re new to credit card repair, don’t’ despair. It’s not that to understand what this is about. And neither will the instructions and tips here be impossible to figure out. May people think, mistakenly, that so long as they keep paying bills on a timely manner, their credit status will be fine. But sometimes we fall back on hard and harder times, and we miss out on payment and end up with the need to do some A Credit Fix. We all want a good credit status. So the more one knows about repairing one’s credit status the better.

Right now the economy is hurting, credit card companies are feeling the pinch, and the lending sector is frozen solid for people who need to borrow to sustain their needs. Keep that in mind as it maybe a bit harder this time around to pull back from the abyss of having spent so much, much more than one can earn. Here are important aspects of A Credit Fix concept you should know about.

Your credit Report and Score. This is not merely another figure. Your credit Report and Score is affected by many things and so you try to avoid those that negatively affect it and find out and implement those that improve it. Improving your Report and Score can involve some action on your side and from other people who trust you.

One way to pull up your credit Report and Score is to persuade some relatives to put you on the list of people authorized to use their credit cards. It’s a good mark on your report when a credit company sees that. That usually means someone trusts you enough to let them use their credit card. That means either financial stability or some discipline in spending.

Your credit reports. You need to be aware of the accurate Report and Score, so to speak, of you transactions, from your credit card company or companies. Knowing where you stand allows you to plan ahead and provide you with some calmness in facing the storm, or the rehab process if you’ve spent more than your income and maxed out a few credit cards.

Usually you are entitled to a free credit report, just ask for it. When you do get it, though, read it cover to cover and try to have a list of questions about what you’re not clear about concerning your report. That will save time in phoning your credit card company and asking questions or talking about your disputes.

Creditors and collection companies. You have to keep the lines of communication open between the people you owe money and the people who collect on their behalf. Doing so is a sign of openness and a willingness to work things out. Besides, the collection company will often take whatever you can give them. So don’t close your doors and hide from them. That would only send the wrong signals and mar your credit status even more. Remember that you’re aiming to repair it, not tarnish it even more.

Identity theft. Some people were victims of this. Someone bought using their names and they had to pay for the consequences. You have to protect vital personal information so that nobody goes around buying in your name. You have to dispute charges you didn’t shoulder yourself. That’s one reason you have to talk to the credit card companies about your free credit reports.

Laws and litigation. You must be aware of ways to legally protect your interests against unlawful practices of some credit card companies and their collection people. That way, you’re prepared and informed and won’t be forced to do things not in your better interests.

If you’re trying to find a way to do the A Credit Fix yourself, it’s advised that you do it yourself and not rely on companies whose tips and efforts you will shell out money for. After all, you don’t want to be scammed.

Remember that the very money you may be using to pay for their services you could already be trying to use to settle existing accounts and maxed our credit cards. It’s best to do some research yourself.

Second Chance Checking Accounts are an alternative for citizens with a troubled banking history. Perhaps you have unfortunately landed in TeleCheck or ChexSystems trap and now banks are turning you down left & right. Stashing your money under a mattress or some home safe won’t cut it for too long. Everyone should have a secure account to store their money safe and securely in. But with bad banking credit history things may not pan out that easy.

And if you have gotten caught up in the web of ChexSystems, then chances of you landing a new bank account within the next 5 years will be paper thin. However, there is an alternative route you can take called second chance checking. This is a solution to get you over that financial brick wall. And one of the best parts about this is that many of these accounts rival “traditional” bank accounts. They actually work quite well – and force you to be more financially responsible.

a majority of them will prevent you from overdrafting so that is no longer an issue — as apposed a regular bank account when you overdraft just a tiny bit they hit you with a fat $29 or more overdraft fee. A big price to pay! But with second chance checking accounts, you do not have to worry about these things.

Also with Non ChexSystems Banks, you really don’t have to hassle with all those paper checks. The proneness to bounce checks is why so many people now have a messed up bank record today. By eliminating paper checks you won’t have to worry about or fear bounced checks any longer. What a relief!

This is a Powerful advantage of a paperless account. Generally, you are provided a check card that has a Visa or MasterCard logo on it. And you will have the ability to monitor your account to know exactly where you stand with your money at all times. This gets rid of the guesswork and keeps your banking activity up-to-date in real time.

An added benefit of this is that some of these accounts come along with a credit builder. This will enable you to build your credit just by making your routine monthly payments on time e.g. rent, cellphone, utilities, or what have you. Good luck in getting this benefit with a traditional bank account!

Ordinary banks don’t care in the least bit about building your credit. They’re only job is to collect your cash, charge you fees , and if you’re lucky, you might earn a small amount of interest in the process.

So in a nutshell, Second chance accounts maybe it should have been your first choice from the very beginning. Your past negative banking history may have ironically led you to a better banking option! Go figure:)

Expert dementia support ‘crucial’

Expert social support which could take much pain out of dealing with dementia should be more accessible to patients and their carers, a report says.

The Nuffield Council on Bioethics said such help often was unavailable until a crisis point was reached.

But access to holistic expert services in the earliest stages of the disease could make a real difference, it said.

Patients should not be written off, but involved in decisions about their care as much as possible, the report said.

REPORT RECOMMENDATIONSServices should be made available from an early stageFamilies should be treated as ‘partners in care’ by professionals, helping to build trustIntroduction of ‘risk-benefit assessments’ to determine how best to protect patients without unnecessarily damaging their quality of lifeHighlight legal duties of service providers – such as shops and restaurants – to ensure people with dementia can use their servicesAbolition of the fee for people to register as welfare attorneys, who can make decisions on someone else’s behalf about medical treatmentMore guidance on how dementia patients can be actively involved in their careMore funding for dementia research

Easing the pain of dementia

The report authors said the flaws in providing dementia care were similar to those in providing cancer care 20 years ago when the patient was seen simply as a disease to be treated.

But since then cancer specialists had adopted a much more holistic approach, accepting that the patient’s emotional and spiritual needs were also important.

Professor Tony Hope, a psychiatrist who led the working party which produced the new report, said people caring for somebody with Alzheimer’s faced tricky ethical dilemmas on a daily basis.

He said often it was the little things that most distressed families.

“A common problem is being worried that a person will hurt themselves, for example by slipping in the bathroom.

“But going into the bathroom with them and intruding on their privacy can be, understandably, very upsetting.”

“There will rarely be a straightforward answer to these problems, but we want carers to have better access to support and advice to help them work out what is best in their particular situation.

“Things are starting to change but dementia still carries a stigma.

“Dementia needs to become an accepted, visible part of our society, and people with dementia should be able to take part in the activities they enjoy.”

The report also praised the establishment of Alzheimer Cafe schemes, where people with dementia, their carers and health professionals can meet to talk through problems.

More respect

Dr Rhona Knight, a GP and another author of the report, said: “People with dementia also need more respect.

“We heard one person describe having dementia as being ‘like a non-person’. We have to challenge these kinds of attitudes.

“People with dementia are often capable of doing much more than we think, and even if they can’t make big decisions, they may be able to make smaller ones, such as what to wear or eat.”

The report said health professionals needed more information and training to help them deal with dementia, and the difficult situations it could create.

Rather than starving carers of information for fear of breaching confidentiality, they should be encouraged to share details which could be of great practical help.

Neil Hunt, chief executive of the Alzheimer’s Society, said: “This report provides compelling evidence of the need for better public understanding of dementia, more support and greater investment in research.”

A Department of Health spokesperson said careful account would be taken of the report’s findings when implementing its new dementia care strategy.

“We are committed to improving early diagnosis and directing people to the right support, information and advice as soon as possible.

“We also want to see the stigma attached to dementia tackled at every level, from GPs to friends and family.”

About 700,000 people in the UK currently have dementia and this is likely to increase to 1.7 million by 2051.

Men in tights
By Mario Cacciottolo
BBC News

Skinny trousers for men are everywhere. But how many will take the trend for figure-hugging legwear one step beyond, and wear tights We road-test the look.

The ongoing battle for equality has returned to a familiar arena – fashion – with a new clothing range on sale at Selfridges in London.

But the short skirts, skimpy tops and leggings by fashion brand Unconditional are not designed for the feminine frame, but for men. Unsurprisingly, the leggings are jokingly referred to as “mantyhose”, despite bearing little similarity to pantyhose.

This foray into androgyny is nothing new, however. Men habitually wore tights several centuries ago, and kilts have always been regarded as masculine.

Footballer Keith Weller famously sported white tights during an FA Cup game for Leicester City in 1979, motivated less by the freezing weather than the hope that these would ease a groin strain.

Unconditional’s designer Philip Stephens says his leggings for men can be worn any which way, to make a statement or to provide warmth as the days shorten.

“You can wear them under shorts or full length or three-quarters. People will buy them as an alternative to long johns, which only come in white and go up under your armpits. We do a range that go from pink to black.”

“A lot of people have their own style, I can see it working on somebody“

Passerby on Mario’s look

Nor does he think men should be embarrassed to adopt a garment so very popular with women. “They’re a bit mosh pit, a bit rock and roll, reminiscent of Seattle grunge. Kurt Cobain used to wear leggings under a nightie. If it suits you, wear it. Women are wearing power suits now.”

But what to wear mantyhose with

“You could wear a tuxedo jacket, T-shirt and then the skirt and mantyhose too,” says Selfridges buyer Adam Kelly.

For me, he picks out a daywear ensemble of a sleeveless top, pleated skirt and, of course, the mantyhose.

I look rather like an extra lost between the sets of Mad Max and Fame.

So what do the public think Out on busy Oxford Street, heads turn.

A dapper young man with oversized sunglasses, waistcoat and trilby comes up to ask if I’m wearing mantyhose – he’s Anthony Hagan, a 22-year-old student from Tufnell Park, London.

“I think the top’s really rad [radical] but I think the skirt’s a bit much,” he says. “A lot of people have their own style, I can see it working on somebody.”

By which he clearly means somebody else – not me.

Jennifer Blake, 21, and Helena Ceadel, 20, of Chiswick, are somewhat less positive.

“It’s not even like a kilt. It’s like a netball skirt,” says Jennifer. She gasps at the suggestion her boyfriend might wear similar garb.

“He would just never, ever wear that,” she insists.

Helena is equally unimpressed. “If I had a date with someone and he arrived wearing this, I would keep on walking and pretend I didn’t know him.”

Steve Newman, of ActivSkin Legwear for Men which sells in 77 countries, says there are physical benefits to wearing mantyhose – although he means nylon tights, rather than my new leggings.

“Men complaining of tired, achy legs are often referred to the women’s hosiery department for support pantyhose if knee-high support socks don’t help,” he says.

“People no longer assume a man wearing nylons under his shorts is a cross-dresser.”

Bercow wants shorter MPs’ summer

House of Commons Speaker John Bercow has said MPs should give up their 12-week summer holidays and return to parliament in September.

He told the Hansard Society voters cannot understand why MPs do not currently sit from mid-July to October.

Mr Bercow said it “must be mystifying in the eyes of our constituents”.

The Tory, elected in June after Michael Martin resigned over his handling of the MPs’ expenses affair, said he was not “simply making populist gestures”.

Addressing a meeting of the research and education charity in Westminster, Mr Bercow said: “I am very sympathetic to those who say ‘why do MPs need to have a 12 week recess’

“I don’t think it is necessary.”

He added: “People cannot understand, even if MPs are working hard in their constituencies in September, why, when the vast majority of people are back at their place of work, we are not.”

Lords questioned

After becoming Speaker, former backbencher Mr Bercow said he wanted to demystify Parliament’s rituals and make it more accessible to ordinary voters.

He told the Hansard Society the public controversy over expenses claimed by MPs had provided an opportunity for the Commons to look at every aspect of its workings.

“There is a sense of crisis about the standing and purpose of the House of Commons“

John Bercow

The John Bercow story

Mr Bercow said backbenchers had been “marginalised” – most had become “de facto ombudsman” on behalf of their constituents, involved in areas once considered the property of local councillors.

He pledged to preside over more Friday sittings where backbenchers’ Bills were discussed.

“There is a sense of crisis about the standing and purpose of the House of Commons,” he said.

He also floated the possibility of Cabinet ministers such as Business Secretary Lord Mandelson and Transport Secretary Lord Adonis being able to answer MPs’ questions on their responsibilities, possibly at sittings in Westminster Hall.

He did not rule out allowing ministers from the Lords answering questions in the Commons, but suggested such an idea would provoke opposition from traditionalists.

Mr Bercow also indicated he would be prepared to preside over a debate on the establishment of an English Parliament, but added it was not the Speaker’s role to call for such a discussion.
